After numerous tests, training and races, the frame was in such bad condition and the body as much need of repair, that the 017 was sold in part, without the motor. He arrived in the early seventies, first in Southern California for a few years later to Mexico and back to California. The previous owner had planned to use the pieces as templates for casting molds. So there was the broken parts 017, went back to the year 2009 Framework and the remaining parts for restoration to Germany. After the restoration of the 906-017 has the look that he had at the time of his only competition, the 24-hour race at Daytona in 1966.
